What golden advice did you learn in your life?

  1. Sex is not everything. Get your mind off the women and get it on your future ----- I used to purposefully cripple myself with the anxiety of loneliness. All I wanted was a girlfriend. As a result, I never did anything with myself. I was a player that focused all his time on women (which I got none because I had no value to offer them). Once I focused on myself and my goals, my life got much better.
  2. You only need one good friend. ----- A single good friend is someone you grow with. It is someone who challenges you to grow, as you challenge them to grow. A good friendship can last a lifetime.
  3. Faking confidence is just as good actually having it ----- With some exceptions, the difference between confident actions and unconfident actions is your perception of yourself. You do not magically start to act in confident ways. With that being said, by ignoring your anxieties, others will not know how unconfident you really feel.
  4. There is a difference between your perception and reality ----- Your perception of reality is relative to your current emotional state. This biases you to react a certain way. It is a matter of being annoyed versus something being annoying. It takes practice, but you can learn to separate your emotions when evaluating a situation.
  5. Slow and steady wins the race (take baby steps) ----- You spent your entire life becoming who you are today. That is years of experience weighing down on your being. For this reason, plant seeds of small change that change small parts of your life. Overtime, these small changes will build to be great change.
  6. Do not take yourself too seriously ----- This is for those who suffer from an inflated ego (myself). Do not think you are tough shit. Chances are you are above average at best. Be honest with yourself because it gives you more opportunity to grow.
  7. Write down your goals every day ----- Remind yourself EVERY DAY of the tomorrow you want to wake up to.
  8. Work hard, but not too hard. (Family first) ----- It is good to have ambition. But, you must stop and enjoy the finer things in life such as your friends and family.
  9. Tomorrow is Another Day ----- If you failed today, so what! Pick yourself up and give it another go tomorrow! And, if you fail tomorrow, get up and try again the next day!
  10. Focus on disciplining new habits. ----- Habits are what your mind does automatically. If a habit is ingrained deep enough, you will not need to fight yourself to perform them. This could be going to the gym, picking the healthy food options, or studying for five hours a day.
