How to reach IIT Kanpur without auto and taxi/cab

As you all know IIT Kanpur is one of the best engineering college in India and people used to go there for different purposes like study, internship, meeting etc. So for a outsider, it can be really expensive to reach IIT Kanpur with auto or taxi fare of above 200 rupees  (average 250 rupees). So today I am telling you the cheapest way to reach IIT Kanpur.

This journey trip is applicable from Kanpur Central railway station to IIT Kanpur.

Some Points to remember:

• Total distance between Kanpur Central Railway Station to IIT Kanpur is 16 kms.
• Auto, Taxi or cab drivers will force you to travel with average 250 rupees to IIT Kanpur. So don't listen to them follow below procedure.

Procedure to Reach IITK:

Local auto tempo

• Get out from the train and ask directions from any person (loyal person) to reach Ghanta Ghar. Ghanta Ghar is just 10 minutes away from Kanpur Central Railway station.
• Take local tempo from Ghanta Ghar to Vijay Nagar with fair of just 5 Rupees per person.
•  From Vijay Nagar, take bus or local tempo to IIT Kanpur with fair of just 12 rupees per person (I have taken local tempo with 12 rupees fair, so i don't know the bus fair so it could be same or lower than 12 rupees).

So total fair to reach IIT Kanpur for a single person is: 5+12= 17 Rupees

And 17 rupees is very lower than 250 Rupees
