Isn't it good to buy only those shares which are already bought by top inverters?

Yeah, it’s a one way ticket to graveyard because-

1. You may know after their buying but they won’t whisper in your ears before selling.
2. They can afford to lose 100% in that investment. It won’t affect their lifestyle. Can you?
3. Asset Allocation would be different. E.g. a Rs 100 crore position might be just 0.5% of their portfolio. Would you invest only that much??
4. Research matters. They may have met with mgmt. Have analysts study business for them.
5. They can hold after 70% drawdown without a sweat. Can you??
6. They may have bought in Cash market & taken a reverse position in F&O market. What you would do then??
7. They also make mistakes but it never throws them out of the markets

Now, i will summarise all that with an example.

India’s Big bull, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the man himself bought Rs90 crore worth of Yes Bank some time back.

The stock still fell down to single digit.

1. People went crazy & bought after him. It is just around 0.5% of his net worth.
2. Even if it went ZERO he can take the loss. Can you?
3. One could never know if he shorted the stock in FnO at the same time.
4. His majority holding still remains TITAN. But people would never buy Titan.
